LMUN was an exquisite experience . Bringing together over 300 youths from six geopolitical zones to actively participate , contribute and enact policies is a feat worthy of commendation. Attending as a facilitator, I picked up a lot of learnings and I wish the quality that was delivered would be replicated across the nation. LMUN is a worthy investment ; a monumental invest worthy of your time and resources.

I was really impressed speaking at LMUN earlier this year. It was run by students, and seeing them care about having conversations and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was so beautiful to see. Their passion, dedication, and commitment to addressing global challenges were truly inspiring. I couldn't help but feel hopeful about the future. They demonstrated a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the world, and their enthusiasm was infectious. It reinforced my belief that the next generation is poised to drive meaningful change and work towards a more sustainable and equitable future.

For me, participating as a delegate and staff in five (5) sessions of LMUN facilitated my training to be a leader, negotiator, policy designer, and strategic thinker. LMUN provides participants with an opportunity to imbibe innovative thinking and conflict resolution skills - all of which are essential in every aspect of our corporate, political, and social environments. Today, I largely attribute the excellence in my professional endeavors to my role in LMUN.

LMUN has honestly been such a special part of my growth. In 2024, I worked as a researcher, and being part of the team that wrote the committee’s background guide taught me what it really means to collaborate, pay attention to detail, and put in the work behind the scenes. Coming back in 2025 as a Chair in a different committee felt like a full-circle moment. It challenged me to think on my feet, manage people, and create an environment where every delegate felt heard. LMUN didn’t just build my skills, it built my confidence and helped me see the kind of leader I’m becoming.

My first LMUN experience was in 2024, where I represented Rwanda in the UNHCR committee. It was an inspiring and eye-opening experience that motivated me to return in 2025 as the delegate of Guinea-Bissau at the General Assembly 2 (Economic and Finance). Through LMUN, I’ve learned the importance of teamwork despite differing views and ideas, strengthened my leadership and diplomacy skills, and become more confident in public speaking. I was honored to receive the Honourable Mention Award and the Peer-to-Peer Award for Most Likely to Become a USG in 2025, as well as the Peer-to-Peer Award for Most Diplomatic Delegate in 2024. LMUN is truly a platform for growth, connection, and self-discovery.
